The Fountain

Director
- Darren Aronofsky

Genre - Drama/Romance/Sci-Fi

Darren Aronofsky has never made easy, audience-friendly films. Directed like a cross between '2001: A Space Odyssey' and Bjork's music videos, this is a love it or hate it movie. The plot itself is infuriatingly difficult to grasp but at times the cinematography is just out of this world. Having said that, the decision to have Hugh Jackman in Shaolin monk attire complete with bald head is just inexplicably silly and uncalled for.

Hey there, thanks for dropping by my blog. I love looking out for experimental/unusual films, but currently am not financially capable of doing so. Your blog provides a helpful list of movies which I can look forward to in the future. Will definitely recommend this blog to my film enthusiast friends.

By the way, I wonder if you have reviewed Avalon - a movie starring a Polish cast directed by Mamoru Oshii? Opinions differ from draggy and boring to unique and engaging. I'm with the latter. Would love to know what you think about it.

Regards, have a pleasant day. :)
Thanks for the comment sjovn l.

we did view 'Avalon' a long time ago and found it a tad tiresome. The plot might get computer gamers all roused up but we're not into that scene.

Our preference for innovative films are gems like 'Being John Malkovich', 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', 'Irreversible' and 'Sin City'. Avant-Garde directors who transcend the medium of movies intrigue us.
