Kids

Director
- Larry Clark

Genre - Drama

Indie director Larry Clark's observation about the carefree, unsupervised lives of a group of young kids. Skateboarding, drugs and sex is sprinkled all over this stark, documentary-like film. Coupled with real life, unhollywood dialogue, it has a very anti-establishment and anti-studios feel to it. Despite its rebellious theme, the film is light on plot and feels empty. Watch out for a very young Chloƫ Sevigny.

I liked the soundtrack a lot, but the film was kind of too cool for school. And the lead actor really irritated me. Reminded me a bit of the Fogell from Superbad but since this was a "serious" film not a comedy he came across as a complete jerk. Was not believable that people wanted to have sex with him. I didn't like Larry Clark's Gummo either.
Gummo's not Clark's film. It's directed by Harmony Korine.
