Fearing that she might end up as a spinster, he resolves to find her a suitor before it is too late. The tale is simple but in Ozu's hands, it becomes so much more profound and alive. Every scene is painstakingly framed to perfection and Ozu's highly controlled, restrained style is still to this day, unsurpassed.
