Genre - Drama
A grandiose, ambitious epic. The story is set in the early days of communism in China. We are introduced at the start to a gambling addict who seems hell-bent on wasting away his father's riches. Drafted into the ensuing war, he gradually changes when faced with insurmountable tribulations. What is so great about this is that it isn't for or against communism. It simply lets the characters and circumstances piece together a remarkable tale of survival.

What i would really like to see is reviews of some Indian movies.Though on an average Indian movies are not on par with those made in US or Europe, but the good ones do deserve appreciation. And there have been quite a few wonderful movies made in this part of the planet (Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Ritwik Ghatak,etc.).
And it's interesting that you have a pic of the Japanese poster... I've never seen that one before. It's cool.
